Tuesday's Desk

Good Afternoon, Friends! My desk is rather clear today (and even my computer one!) so I decided to toss my WiPs on for you to see.



Already There (from L to R): Stack of Fabric w/Ribbon (AKA Being-Finished Autumn Exchange), Fibers from Santa Arrives Tonight (but I'm using one to finish the aforementioned...), and a long print-out of the candidates for the When Witches Personalization.




This was going to be 2010's "Us Ornament", but Dear Marc has indicated a tangible hostility for "Santa's Mu-mu(sp?)". I tried telling him it's "European Santa", but he is unmoved. SO...already considering what I'll stitch to "replace" it. This one will get an regular no-dedication-to-marc sort of finish, lol!



A close-up; feels like I'm "ALMOST DONE"...but I've still got the over-one initial. And all that fill in. And what about the moon. ;)



So! Again I beg help from blogland--A question for you Prairie Schoolers out there: I've been eyeing PS Book 110: Santa And Friends, which has four Snowy-Woods Nighttime scene Santa ornaments. What ARE the animals in the ornament in the top/North position? Is there a Fox???

The East features geese and cardinals, elk and more cardinals to the South, Rabbits and, umn, squirrels at west, But the North? The animal on the sleigh; the one running alongside...they could both be young deer...or...could one be a fox??? I have googled and googled, but just can not find a picture to clear up the mystery. Thanks so much to anyone who can help--I am fox-crazy, so this might be the one (if it really has a fox...)

Friday the 13th: One Week Later

Hello, Everyone! Let's see if I can keep my windbag act, well, in the bag this morning (don't hold your breath; 3 hours sleep again as Dear Marc pulled an all-nighter for work.) This week's progress on PS 148 When Witches Go Riding: I'm not too happy with my progress on this for a number of reasons. (Still waiting on more fibers; just how slow can one woman stitch; should have finished the very last bit on Sunlit Sky instead, but followed alt. specialty stitch plan made for me at LNS for roof and it was not centered in the end !! But, when I see it in the hosting album alongside the previous pic I can't help being favorably impressed.) The first of my Birthday Stash arrived yesterday. From Right: Birds of a Feather Meadowlark 36ct (it even shows in a stamp at the binding) and Birds of a Feather Sparrow 32ct. That other triangle is a corner of When Witches (Which is R&R Pilgrim Brown) I tossed in to show how positively pale it looks alongside the other two I *tho...

More Fox and Stash-clearing!~

I've been stitching on WiPs and also started stitching the model for my first Original Design, which will be a freebie when I get it finished! I am SO enjoying watching it take shape. Now, the progress pics! Decided to change the "B" on this one, but don't quite like it. I'm thinking of making it a darker color. Or should I just put my signature initial "B" and be done with it? And "November Windows" by Prairie Schooler (actually just "November"'s companion chart. I'm already almost out of the darkest color's skein for this one! The Fox! Tom needs a body--perhaps someone ate it! (actually the color I subbed--thinking it was only for the words--is way too dark so a plan B is in order.) Here's my finish of HE's Stitching Necessaire; I've had this one for a while, but still need to find the perfect finishing fabric. I know I need at least some felt for the pincushion, but I just don't...

Riding With Witches

You may recall that I was working on When Witches Go Riding by PS, and I've done some here and there between exchanges and my monthly HalloSAL. Today, I decided to take a progress pic, and I was shocked by how much I'd actually gotten done since last time just by doggedly sewing in black, black, and more black. Before: And Now: This one does the best job of showing the colours on this grey day. But this one is clearer, and un-cropped. You can see where a I had to take out some black border at the corner due to a knot-loop. Sigh. If you're looking for the "ruffle" at the bottom of the frame as charted, never fear. I am quite in love with it, yet contemplating inserting some sort of signature-date-etc at the bottom in a box before that fancy trim. I actually have--somewhere--about a million thumbnails sketched for personal logos that would be, in my recollection at least, very suitable for adaptation to the medium of needle and thread.
